Those of you lucky enough to be regularly news bombed by me on Facebook may have already heard, but here it is again… ‘The Market Table‘ has a new home:) I am delighted to announce that I will be running the kitchen in the ‘Motorrad Hangar‘ in Zurich, starting with the opening on Saturday!!
The ‘Motorrad Hangar’ is a workshop, garage, community space, bowling alley, bar and restaurant, mostly aimed at people who want to repair, put together or do up their motorbikes, but also open to anyone cool who happens to be in the neighbourhood. It is the first of its kind in Europe and was inspired by ‘Piston and Chain‘ in San Francisco. It is being set up by a group of lifelong friends who share a love of bikes in a DIY way, and have been looking for a premises for ages… About four months ago, they found the perfect spot in what used to be ‘Restaurant Glattwies’. They’ve spent weeks knocking down, cleaning, painting and doing up the building and it looks class… I like to describe it as “industrial chic with a dash of retro”. Anyway, they hadn’t planned on doing food, but this place is fully kit-chened out, and bikers get hungry just like anyone else… It seemed like a perfect opportunity to offer their customers even more, which is where I come in!
I’ll be making delicious, home made meals using fresh, local, seasonal produce. The kitchen will be open Thursdays and Fridays from 6pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 11am. Do drop by with or without your bike (especially if the sun is shining as there’s a gorgeous terrace out front). Or… Come to the opening party on Saturday! Details in the flyer below.
I’m so happy to be working with such a cool bunch of people on such a fun and exciting project!
